Verivolt has launched IsoBlock T, a galvanically isolated thermocouple-to-analog transmitter. It converts thermocouple signals into a calibrated bipolar differential voltage output of up to ±10 V for compatible DAQs, PLCs, and control systems.
Designed to Withstand a 5 kVrms Isolation Test for One Minute
IsoBlock T separates the thermocouple input, analog output, and power supply into three isolated domains. It supports standard thermocouple measurement applications while providing added isolation for installations where the sensor and receiver cannot share the same ground. This is especially valuable in noisy, high-common-mode environments, including EV battery testing, solar-storage battery systems, high-voltage resistor testing, and other energized devices under test.
Differential Output for DAQ and Test Systems
IsoBlock T converts the conditioned thermocouple measurement into a calibrated bipolar differential voltage output of up to ±10 V. The output is intended for compatible differential-voltage inputs in test benches, automated validation systems, DAQs, PLCs, and control systems.
Configurable Thermocouple Inputs
IsoBlock T is factory configurable for Type B, E, J, K, N, R, S, or T thermocouples. It supports sub-zero and high-temperature measurements, with the usable temperature range determined by the selected thermocouple type.
An optional Custom configuration supports application-specific thermocouple-voltage linearization and mapping. Output scaling, mapping, 50 or 60 Hz mains-notch filtering, update rate, and linearization profiles can be configured at the factory.
Signal Conditioning and System Integration
The thermocouple front end performs cold-junction compensation, linearization, and input diagnostics. Measurements cross the signal isolation barrier before the configured filtering, scaling, and mapping are applied to the differential output.
IsoBlock T operates from a 12 to 32 VDC supply and uses push-in spring terminals for the thermocouple, supply, and differential output connections. It is housed in an IP20, UL 94 V0 DIN-rail enclosure measuring 99 mm × 113.65 mm × 17.6 mm.
