Introducing Galvanically Isolated Thermocouple-to-Analog Transmitter: IsoBlock T

Verivolt launched IsoBlock T, a galvanically isolated thermocouple-to-analog transmitter designed for integration with PLCs, DAQs, and control systems. It converts thermocouple signals into a calibrated bipolar differential voltage output of up to ±10 V.

Configurable thermocouple inputs

IsoBlock T is factory configurable for Type B, E, J, K, N, R, S, or T thermocouples. The input supports sub-zero and high-temperature measurements without polarity switching or special configuration. The actual usable temperature range depends on the selected thermocouple type.

An optional Custom mode supports raw thermocouple voltage with MCU-defined linearization and mapping. Output scaling, mapping, 50 or 60 Hz mains-notch filtering, update rate, and custom linearization profiles can be factory configured for the application.

Three isolated measurement domains

The transmitter separates the supply, output, and thermocouple sections into three isolated domains. This architecture is designed to maintain measurement accuracy with microvolt-level thermocouple signals in noisy, high common-mode environments. IsoBlock T provides 5 kV RMS isolation for one minute and a typical common-mode transient immunity of ±150 kV/µs.

The thermocouple front end performs cold-junction compensation, linearization, and input diagnostics. Measurements then cross the signal isolation barrier, where the configured filtering, scaling, and mapping are applied before the precision DAC and output driver generate the bipolar differential output.

Designed for control and data acquisition systems

IsoBlock T operates from a 12 to 32 VDC supply and uses push-in spring terminals for thermocouple, supply, and differential output connections. The product is housed in an IP20, UL 94 V0 DIN rail enclosure measuring 99 mm × 113.65 mm × 17.6 mm.
